emphasis of the class was placed on physiology, which is foundational in knowing how to treat a patient whether they are a victim of trauma, environmental factors, or medical problems. My mind is overwhelmed (in a good way) when I reflect on all that I learned in the past three weeks! Again, I have nothing but good things to say about Julie and Abi of Sierra Rescue. They are patient instructors and their passion for wilderness rescue is evident. They also did a phenomenal job of creating realistic emergency scenarios; our patients were complete with fake blood, pink frothy sputum, bruising, and even vomiting.
